22PPC as a first BR rifle?

    Hi all.
I have been shooting F-class/UNL some time.
Looking to start wit BR, LV shooting, but what caliber, 6ppc?
How about a 22 PPC or one of the other 22 calibers, 220 Beggs and so one?

    Happy shooting.

I went with the 6PPC to start. Plenty of custom projectiles available.

22 PPC will spoil you. There’s no recoil and a lot of information about them. They’re great if you are shooting group matches but you give up a little if you intend to shoot score matches due to the small hole they make.

There is a reason the 6ppc is most popular in short range BR.
    Their the most accurate!!!!!!
    Accuracy is addicting!!!!
Be careful, you might get hooked.

    Hello all.
Thanks for the welcome and the replys.

    6PPC, I got it.
Also, maybe, no, it is easier to spott the holes from a 6PPC than a 22PPC.

Never used a tuner, but from what I read, I sure like to try it.
Loading, tuning the ammo at the range, during the match is also new to me.
A lot to learn and test out, but, very interesting.

    Thanks.

For someone just starting out, there is no need to make your life any more complicated than you have to.

If you are wanting to compete in Group Shooting, Just go with a 6PPC. Build a good LV and you can also shoot all four classes with it.

There is an entire industry built around the 6PPC. Take advantage of that fact.
