I am new to the site and a novice of benchrest related topics and wildcats. from your discussion threads you look highly informative on the subject of wildcat calibers. I am having difficulty tracing the history and reloading data in regards to my Dad's 242 Big Six by L. R. Wallack. My dad who is now passed didn't pass much info on this rifle, nor did I express any interest. I do remember him resizing 270 cartridges and necking them down. There was an overall length that he was trimming to but can't recall what it was. I do not see any markings on the barrel other than L.R. Wallack Big Six. It appears to be a sporter varmint rifle made in the 60's with a Mauser 98 action. I was able to locate a reloading forming die I presume. My goal with a help of a local benchrest shooter is to load this cartridge so I am able to shoot it again. Thanks.
