The Pennsylvania State Championship at Kane - Match Recap

2017 Kane Pennsylvania State Championship Match Recap

63 shooters from across many states of the NBRSA Eastern and Southeast Region arrived at the Kane Fish and Game Club last week to pursue winning this year’s Pennsylvania State Championship Benchrest match.

Kane’s great reputation drew many first time visitors and… several new shooters to this great annual BR match.

As always, the shooters found the Kane Fish and Game Club grounds to be in immaculate condition and warm hospitality extended to all whom attended this annual match. Good times with old friends, great food and… pie are the mainstays of the Kane experience. It was certainly great to see everyone again!

As with every year, everyone seeks a loading spot on the porch for lively discussions about all things Benchrest and certainly what favorite pies of choice we would all indulge over the weekend.

Our aging, master of ceremonies, Howy Levy, arrived by chopper and promptly took roll-call on the now famous loading porch to roast anyone within his eyesight. Oh, boy! No one was safe that made eye contact with little Howy Levy.

Many of us listened intently to Howy on Saturday morning about how the “heavy mountain air” was loaded into each of Howy’s 6PPC cases, making his loads too hot, causing his rifle to be out of tune Saturday morning. Hmmmm? You just can’t get this great tuning instruction anywhere else! We all love our little Howy!

The shooters were greeted with very benign conditions on most of all of Saturday’s Light and Heavy Varmint classes.
