The Angelina Rifle and Pistol Club in Lufkin Texas is very pleased to announce that over $4,000 in prizes will be given away to top shooters from Texas and surrounding states during the United States Bench Rest (USBR) Regional Rimfire (22LR) Match on Saturday May 12 and the Texas Bench Rest Shootout on May 13. Academy Sports and Outdoors, Brownell's, MidwayUSA, Sinclair International, Sworovski Optik North America and a long time club supporter Bill's Gun Shop have contributed an impressive variety of prizes. These sponsors recognized the level of this shooting sport, encourage others to join shooting sports, understand the pleasure one gets from the shooting sports and hunting. Angelina Rifle and Pistol Club greatly appreciates their expression of support. These sponsors may be joined by others and the prizes may increase before the competition begins on the second weekend in May.

The first, second and third place winners of the Texas Bench Rest Shootout winners will share a purse of $500 for the Unlimited class and $300 for the Custom class. This is the first time such a large prize for competitive bench rest shooting has been done in East Texas. It promises to be two days of exciting friendly competition as shooters gather for the weekend's events. Friday is practice day and the bench rest range will be open to all entrants to dial in their rifles and practice their skill. Saturday at 9:00 AM, the first relay will commence for the USBR Regional. Shooters will shoot one target for each class: Sporter, Custom and Unlimited. Trophies, awards and prizes will follow with lunch about noon. On Sunday, the Texas Shootout's first relay will start at 9:00 AM with each competitor shooting two targets for each class. Their best score for the class will be counted. Prizes will be awarded following the last relay and lunch around noon.
