Sorting 107 SMK

I am planning to bring my 6BR to an F/Open shoot in next month. 600 yds. Do you guys sort your 107 SMK for bearing length? I have found that sorting my Bergers made a significant difference in point blank with 30 cal bullets in my group size. I have no experience at 600 yds with any but shooting small groups (5 shot). I never had preloaded 80 rounds at once.

Thanks for tips, Tim

Tim,

As the distance increases, everything begins to make a difference. Sorting by BSL for 600 yd shooting would be a good idea.

You'll find that there is quite a range of lengths in a box of 500. Three distinct piles will form. Anything out of those piles, use for practice or foulers.

How does one go about sorting/measuring for bearing surface length ? Thanks.
Also, is it worth the time to do a preliminary easier quicker sort for simple bullet length ?

OK, I'll bite. How do you sort by bearing length, other than a WAG?

I would like to try this but methinks there are some tools (toys) I may need. Always need more stuff.
