Sinclair/Wilson Trimmer accessories

OK, you all have me convinced to buy the Sinclair/Wilson Ultimate Micrometer Trimmer w/ Shark Fin.

Just so I don't regret missing anything, are there any accessories I should grab with it when ordering? I planned on getting the power adapter, but wasn't sure about other useful accessories.

Oh, and does this chamfer package work with the trimmer, or is this to be used separately? http://www.sinclairintl.com/product/5478/Case-Mouth-Chamfering

You'll need shell holders of course and the platform from sinclairs is a nice thing to have to knock the case out of the holder.

Oh and if your planning to use it for .17 or .20 cal's you need the optinal cutter

I'm not sure what you mean by the "platform", either.

I am just trimming with this and I won't be using it to neck turn. If I can use it to do the 45 deg deburring/chamfering, that would be great.
 
hey mirage, wilson uses a unique case holder system for their trimmer. you'll need to look at their chart to get the ones you will need. the chamfer tool works in place of the hand crank. i recommend the trimmer platform, part# 05-4800. i bought the complete deal from sinclair and really like it and think you will, too! good luck, lightman

I recommend TWO (2) of the chamfer/deburring packages. Switching that tool around and locking it in place can be a pain. It's used separately.

RCBS has a head for it's trimmer that trims, deburrs, and chamfers all at once but I never cared for the results so I returned it. :)

I do not see any reference in the trimmer description specifying which shell holder type I need to use with it.

Any idea which one it is?

hey mirage, the chamfer package you are looking at does not go with the wilson trimmer, it's for use in a drill or screwdriver. the wilson case holders that you will need are different than you are used to and are listed under trimmer accessories in sinclairs catalog. they are kind of caliber specfic, but case famlies will interchange, ie 308, 243, 260 ect. ask the sales rep about them when you call, you'll understand more when you see how they work. even if this is confusing, this is a fine tool and you will not be sorry you bought it. good luck, lightman
 
I see now. For some reason I was thinking I could use the trimmer to hold the chamfer tool with that adapter. That would be nice if I could, but I guess not.

...Which makes me wonder. Does anyone make a tool like a trimmer, which holds your case in alignment for the chamfer/deburr process?

I ask because I do not have a drill press yet to do this with.
 
It's not really necessary, and the alignment can be tricky - which is the reason the Wilson chamfer attachment for their trimmer doesn't work all that great... off-center chamfers, etc. Holding it manually... your hand essentially acts as a 'floating' holder and it stays pretty centered. Just needs to be there for a revolution or two, at any rate, so it's not like you're going to be taking off a lot of metal.
 
Here is a list of Sinclair part numbers I sent to a friend getting into benchrest. You need to pick the correct shell holder for your caliber...the one's listed are for 6PPC and 220 Russian.
