Savage F versus Bench Rest Rifles?

I've decided to go with the 6mmbr for our clubs 600yd competition.

Would the F class Savage be a good choice for shooting from the bench? It's a little heavier than the Savage model 12 Bench Rest.....

Or is there a reason why the F is not a good option for this purpose?

Thanks,

George

George,
I have seen 3 F class 6BR's & all of them shot extremely well. The differences between the F class & the Benchrest models from what I can tell:

F class has a parallel tracking surface at the toe of the stock, where the BR has some taper.
Also the flat of the that surface is about 1" wide which in my opinion is too wide for most of the common rear bag ear spacing that is on most bags.
You can have Protector make you a custom ear spacing for this stock.
As far as the Benchrest model goes, I can't tell you about the flat on that stock because I have never seen one personally. Maybe somebody can chime in on that one.
The only other difference I can tell is barrel length. The BR has a 29" & the F has a 30" They both have an 8 twist.
IMO either would work fine in 6BR for your club matches. I think it comes down to which stock design you like the best.
