DON DECKERT OWNER OF PRARIE DOG TARGET CLUB PASSED AWAY MONDAY JULY 31ST
DUE TO A FARM RELATED ACCIDENT HE WILL BE MISSED

At an NBRSA Hunter Nationals there, Don told me the history of how his family came to live there. The Prairie Dog Target Range has to be one of the longest running NBRSA venues out there.

Indeed, this was sad news. beginning 1984, through about 1997, a pal and I missed very few of the PDTC events - three 3-day tournaments per season - were were always made to feel welcome . . . and hoped/dreamed of doing well enough to be 'slandered' by Don in his GREAT match reports. Don invested trust in me, and often, I have appreciated that, yet failed to express it directly to him - next week . . . One of the icons of BR, we are diminished. RIP, Don Deckkert.
