This past Saturday, April 7, 2012, we had our first 600 yard shoot for calendar 2012. Many thanks for all those who helped run the shoot. Overall we had relatively good conditions with temps varying from the 40s for our first match to the low to mid-60’s for our third match. While there was some wind and mirage, we’ve definitely seen worse.
We had really good turnout with a total of 31 individual shooters who participated in one or more of the three matches shot. This included 2 individuals who had not shot at our 600 yard matches before. With one individual shooting two guns during match 1, we had we had 32 targets shot in match 1, 31 targets shot in match 2, and 29 targets shot in match 3. Since we had more than 24 shooters, there were 7 chances to win in each match; 1st, 2nd, 3rd place group, 1st, 2nd, 3rd place score, and closest to center.
Results Summary:
• 31 individuals participating in the shoot (Including 2 new shooters – first time to shoot our 600 matches)
• 92 targets shot
• 6 groups measuring under 2 inches
• Smallest group shot was 1.590” which was shot by Bill Kosto in Match 1
• 2 perfect scores of 50 which were shot by Bill Kosto and Todd Wooten in Match 1
• 21 opportunities to win (7 for each Match)
• 13 different individuals winning one or more times
