Ruger #1 Pistol Grip Emblem

I'm working on a stock for a Ruger #1, Stainless laminated rifle.
The pistol grip cap needs to be removed and it looks like I need to cannibalize the Ruger emblem that is embedded in the cap.
Is destroying the emblem necessary?
Can I get a new emblem from someone?

Yes, the brass medallion gets destroyed to access the grip cap screw. They are readily available as a service item from several sources...Midway and Amazon to name a couple. -Al
