Mike,
Seems doable to me, measurements I came up with are as follow.........
Ruger barrel:
tenon diameter / thread pitch - 1.00 x 16 tpi (.0625 deep)
tenon length - .687
head space - .817
Remington barrel:
tenon diameter / thread pitch - 1.0625 X 16 tpi (.0625 deep)
tenon length - .875
head space - .885
Should be able to cut off .200 - .210 considering the shoulder doesn't get pushed forward. Measurements are rough and only for reference since they are both factory take-off barrels, I don't have any actions apart to measure from. You'll have to reduce the dia. ahead of the tenon from 1.200 to 1.160 based on the two barrels I have here.
Hope this helps,
Med.
