Yes

Most of what causes copper fouling in a barrel starts with the scuffing of copper by the reamer marks in the throat. It is then vaporized by the super heated gases and coats the barrel downstream. By lapping the throat, this break in time can be drastically reduced.

I rechamber and set back barrels on a regular basis. In my opinion, just shoot 3 shots down it, clean it, and it's good to go.
