Question on ejection....

Well, I have a question that someone might be able to answer. I have three bat actions that are identical. I have BR and PPC bolts. All bolts are interchangable with the actions. All actions are RBLPRE. One action will not eject properly even with the other bolts but the other two actions eject perfectly with the bolts. I can not find any difference or flaw in the action that doesn't eject 100%. Failures seem to run about 40% of the time. Is there something specific I should be looking for? Just can't understand why.

it sounds like one of the ejector ports is in a different (wrong) place,,,or maby is not long enuff in the window!! ,,,or has a burr or sumthin wrong...measure its location and feel around for a burr or anomolie....Roger
 
I'm with Roger.

Also, most of these type ejection systems can benefit from a small piece of sticky-back felt or rubber right where the tender mouth of the case WAKKS! the front of the ejection port. It just pisses me right off when a 1000.00 custom action dings my necks :mad:

Go to a thicker neck, say a .268 or .269 neck. No more dingie of the necks, even if you drop them on the floor. Or maybe your ejector spring is a bit too strong and is causing the case to hit the side of the action just ahead of the right port, causing the case to jump out of the bolt face. I have a Viper RBLPRE that sometimes leaves the case in the action, usually with the base sticking out the port. I think this happens when I don't pull the bolt back fast enough..........Don

Same Problem.

I have the same problem, nothing to worry about it just happens to guys when they get older.:eek:
 
Barrel Chambering can be the difference

If the barrel is chambered with the cone portion not flush to a little past the front of the ejection port the case will hit the edge of the action before the opening in the port and the case will fail to eject properly. -----Bill
