Question for tuner experts

It is my understanding that once the gun is in perfect tune, it should be able to shoot any match ammo. and still hold its tune.
After trying several lots and speeds of Ely Match, I had to change tuning sometimes as much as 15 to 20 clicks to be able to shoot a tiny moth ball. I can see the POI changing due to different speeds, but the tuning should stay the same.
Your opinion is welcome.

If tuned properly you are done. No gun will shoot all ammo, each gun will still have decided favorites.
 
Choose Ammo that shoots well. No rid will shoot all ammo

No rifle will shoot all ammo. At least that I have ever seen.

Sometimes ... one or two click's either way, from your current setting, will eliminate those pesky seven's on a USBR target.
 
It's always been my understanding that once you have your tuner set, it will shoot well with the same velocity ammo. Change the speed and you may have to readjust the setting. Killough Shooting Sports sells Eley Match by lot numbers and by speed. Maybe there's something to it.

Not true. A velocity range may be preferred however most guns favor particular machines. Again, once tuned you're done.

So practically you are saying, that the gun stays in tuned if you use the same manufacturing machine number regardless of speed, also that means that if you can't get ammo. from that particular machine you will have to re-tune.
According to the PRX formula once you get the gun tuned which whatever ammo. it likes, you are done. ????
Normally I test the gun accuracy with different lots and speeds, and no tuner, once I find something that it really likes, then I put the tuner in, and start playing with the settings until I find a really good tune. With the new PRX formula it is a lot faster to find the sweet spot.

Use whatever methodology you're comfortable with. My point is once tuned, if done properly, you're done. My previous gun had not one click of adjustment on the tuner and shot over 60 250's over 5 years or so.The rest is barrel specific, and what we are coming to terms with understanding, chambers do seem to have a decided preference for certain length ammunition, as such some are now measuring
OAL from rim to beginning of ogive.
Some guns want a single machine. My guns have shot very well with three machines with ammo from 1053-1067. They are not the exception and I'm shooting 2,4 &. 6 groove barrels. They shoot in cold to hot temps. Good stuff is out there but you must, repeat, must use somebody that understands how to put equipment together.

I agree with everything you said, that was my original statement when I started this posting, once is tuned, different machines or a small variant in speed should not throw shots, it may increased the group size but not throw flyers.
I do all the work on my equipment, and others, but the tuning seams to change quite a bit from lot to lot and mainly speed.
I wanted to hear other people experience.

Everyone hopes for that rifle that will shoot whatever one throws in it but, alas, it's not to be. There ain't no easy answer YET. Regarding chambers, lately there has been quite a bit of mumbling about longer chambers, chambers in the .650" area, which I believe is newish information. Has there been any relief regarding sensitivity of lots, etc., a that length?
