Question about a marking on my barrel...

Picked up a used PPC gun off the classifieds last year. I understand all on the barrel engravings except the number in the parenthesis (.015). Can anyone explain to me what this number means? Also is Bruce LaChapelle still working on BR rifles, if so can you post up or PM his contact info. Thanks.

Here is the engraving along with a pic.

Hart Barrel 13.875
6 PPC .263 NK, H.H. (.015)
7/9/05 Viper DP B0208

Bruce is active in the Dunham's Bay club up near Lake George NY.
He was trained by Norm Dixon and I believe he works out of his home. His son works at Hart Rifle Barrels.

Short Free Bore

What you would probably find is that your bullets would seat deeper in the case for this barrel than for barrels with medium to long freebores; however, you mention that this is a classifieds' purchase, so it may be your first rifle, which would mean that you have nothing to compare it to. The only problem I can possibly think that you could ever run up against would be if you were using a long bearing surface bullet made on .825" jackets, and were creating a "donut" in your cases with your neck turning process. In that case, you may encounter the base of the bullet contacting this "donut", while the ogive of your bullet firmly contacts the rifling. Be careful of this situation. It could cause pressure problems with fairly light loads...
Ideally, match the short free bore with a short bearing surface bullet, and maybe even with bullets made on .790" jackets. Your bullet maker will be able to help you out if you tell him about your free bore length...
