Can't find them anywhere. Called Black Hills today and was told that if I put my name on their list I could expect shipment Oct or Nov. I just assumed it was for 2009.

Question is, if I go on a list, what vendor do you think would be the first to see supply in a large volume>

Powder Valley and Bruno's have come through for me. This ain't the first run on components in recent memory.....

We saw a few Federal GMs here in Australia this month, but only backorders & only a small percentage of them.

Last time I bought primers I got 40,000 of them. I had a chance to buy a LOT more and thought at the time...ah..well 40,000 is a lot. I didn't figure that I should have gotten more. Some of the guys at our range bought a pallet load of them. We did this group buy from some vendor and got a skid of Winchester primers. They were cheap by volume. I wish I had been a little more frugal with the bunch I had. I am probably down to 8-10 thousand now... I have gotten pretty careful what I load and where I waste them.

Cheers
Mac.

Yeah, it's all the pallet, skid purchases are the reason there's a national shortage.

I have 96 Large Rifle, and 500 Magnum Large Rifle.

Looked at Cabela's and Midway -- $20 haz-mat charge for shipping, which would be OK for a pallet load, but they won't sell you a pallet load.

-- But I think Obama & Co. are getting the message.

Powder Valley & others.

I live 20 miles from Powder Valley. I try to visit them every 2 weeks...... Looks like they are shuffling papers more than anything else. They are still #1 on my list.... However Midway and Natches still comes thru at times.

According to Powder Valley's web site, they have 50 MILLION primers back ordered!!! I guess I shouldn't expect my back order any day soon.

That depends. 50 Million is only 50 thousand boxes of 1000 ea. How many boxes do they sell in a normal month ???

Spoke with Powder Valley...no primers , they have no idea when they will be available, world take no backorders

Hi-cap mags, and semi-auto boon to industry, replenishing of government contracts, and a new president with anti-gun voting history = 300$ for a box of 1000 Federal Primers on Gunbroker.

I paid $37 plus tax for my last box of primers at a local gun shop. I would scope out these places to see if they will have some.

The Powder Valley statement, mentioned in earlier post was still true this weekend.
I am not shooting a lot of my 1911 or AR until the prices and supply come back around.

Trying to buy loaded ammo in major city is difficult as well. Here is DFW, a local car club with an armory section, has a spreadsheet of known local places and what's on the shelf.
