Photo through BR scope?

There are some

pictures in the Orrington-Jackson gallery on the IBS site but they may have been taken through a 6-X scope. Actually it is A picture with 300 Yd targets down range.

pic thru scope at 1000 yds.

Here is a pic of the target thru a 50 power Leu..at 1000yd ...Upper Nisqually Sportsman Club....I took several shots before I got this one,,,kinda triky....but was a good day of shooting........Roger
PS...the mountain that you see to the sides of the scope are where the backstop was...!!!!!
and ...you can see that a "dot" wuld cover up tooo much of the target for any kind of accurate hold for the wind...or at least for me it wuld be awkward......

How to Post up these pics.......

Do you have to use a 'hosting site' for these type pics, or direct as in a email attachment? Thanks, r in s.

Hi Ray...it is easy

The trik is have a small pic.....((not tooo many mega whoppers....)) I just send the pic to myself as an e-mail...that if you use the image reducing feature of your mail service, will reduce the size to you....then take it out of your e-mail and put it in your photos in your own computer....then when you reply to this ,or any other., thread it will ask about attatchments...then you browse your own photos on your own puter and pic the one you like....it must be smalll or the server here wont ((cant)) accept it.....just piddle with it some and it will come to you.........hope this helps.....Roger

Or upload the pic to photobucket.com and put the link here, and put it between image tags.

Image tag is [*img]link goes here [*/img]

Take out the * which I had to insert to make the code visible for you.

I use imagecave as a free image hosting site. This allows me to post what ever size picture that I want to. The site has provision for making a copy of an uploaded image at what ever size you want. For instance, the top picture is a copy that was reduced to a size such that at the coarsest screen setting the whole thing would fit. Below is the full sized image that it was made from.

Why does the rifle have a bolt in it with someone down range??

Heres one of my son co
ming back from scoring the target at 1K

RunForestRun.JPG

I hate to throw a damper on this but I really hate to see a rifle pointed at a person with the bolt in the rifle even if the bolt is open. Just strikes me as something I would not want to encourage by publishing it on the internet. This just goes against all the firearm safety training I have had.

My apologies if I offend anyone

This is through a 40X March at 100. The camera is a touch out of focus, the scope is sharper than this.

There is a chamber flag in place not visible in the picture. An equally acceptable safety feature to removing the bolt.

and while it is STANDARD at br matches to do bolt out, the ranges i populate for everyday shooting only REQUIRE BOLT OPEN.
some places have have added OBI's( open bolt indicators) to the process (cmp/dcm matches for instance).

there is nothing incorrect in that picture, assuming he is not at a BENCHREST match.
