optimum barrel length on rail gun

I am wondering how you guys decide what length to cut the barrel? Do you find a tight spot toward the muzzle, or a balance point? What lube is everyone using? Not new to bench rest, just new to rail guns. Bought a Larson Rail from Jefferson and am anxiously awaiting spring!!!!

Alright!, another rail shooter at Tacoma! My barrels for my Powell are 26" long. (that's as long as I can get in the box) :D Seems to work ok.

This bbl. won't fit in the box at 26". Needs to be an inch shorter or build a new box. I hope things turn around up here or I won't be doing much travelling next year! These fools we have for politicians are getting worse every year. I may have to join the Western seperation army and gaurd the border on the east side of the prairie provinces!

Rail Gun Barrel

I never cut a PPC barrel longer than 23 inches. That is what I start my Rail Gun Barrels off at.........jackie

I will be standing next to you.

Sorry fellows just had to throw that in.

All of my L.V. bbls are at 22 inches as I have heard before about it being optimum length for 6ppc. I guess 223 wouldn't hurt, would leave you room to recrown and freshen the throat.
