I shot the last of my GI H322 and this year I have 2 unopened 8 lbs of H322 before the extreme. The GI was a lot like my 8208. Will the H322 be sort of like that? Where should I start with my loads? The GI was black like my 8208. This isnt't black but its not green like the extreme. I was wondering how its going to act. Thanks for all the help,
Johnnie

Hey Johnnie,
Since no one else wants to field this one,Here goes. The GI that you have been shooting Is a lot like the pulldown 8208 except that you can crank it right up,fill the case and it will shoot well in the heat of summer. No sense playing around in the lower to mid volume range with it.The pulldown 8208 seems to prefer mid range loadings and will usually gag when stoked up.Dry& hot is where pulldown 8208 shines. The GI handles humidity better and that's why I kinda like it.With 133 one can wind the dial from low end to high end depending on temp & humidity and one's general mood. The H322 (before the extreme) is a different animal altogether and is kinda old school powder.Moderate neck tension, low ogive bullets in the .2431 body diameter range, square mark and 28.7 gr of powder. If that wont shoot leave the powder measure alone and move the seating depth in or out a little but stay in the rifling. This combo should shoot well at 3250fps in the 40-75 degree temp range, above that "all bets are off" and you're gonna need some 133.If you're shooting sleek modern bullets and /or boattails, don't even open the jugs, sell it and get some 133,or the new 8208.The new 322 extreme I like in the winter, sub 30 degs but I will put it away when temps get over 70 in the summer. I think this new 8208 will be the "bees knees" once the weather warms up,we'll have to wait and see.

I would store any GI-322 away from your house! I had to 8 pounders that went bad. They were stored indoors and one jug let loose. It relieved itself thru the screw on cap and proceded to leave a very dirty residue all over other powder cans. I called Hodgen and they told me to get out of the house immediately and burn or bury it. The good news is they replaced it with new 322 to my door.
