Nesika Extractor

Pulled the bbl. on a Nesika Model S and noticed marks on the coned breech that match the location of the extractor (this is a RB/RP - slides in a T-slot in the face of the left lug). When I looked at the extractor, I found that it protrudes about .017" from the coned surface of the lug. Is this normal in the newer actions? This action was built in 2010. The extractor of my older Model K (built in 1999) is flush with the lug surface.
