My new shop

My old shop was built before the civil war, so i figured it was time to upgrade.

So, I finished a room in my barn, insulated, heated and brought my tools in there, made some benches etc. Still organizing, but I'm pretty pleased so far.

Working on a Mauser in 220 swift just now.

Really Nice

All that is missing is a 52 inch Flat Screen.

That looks like a place where you could just go and sit, and still enjoy life.......jackie

Ben

I saved the photos for inspiration-ideas -well done.
My garage is an ongoing project.......

It looks like a lot of work to get to that point so relax and enjoy it now.
Then go shooting.

It's been a lot of years coming, about 15 I guess, in planning and saving. I did all of the design and 60% of the building myself....

I have a 200 yard range out the back door, for 4 season shooting. I have plans for a 300 yard dirt pile also.

Thought I would share it with the folks here, who inspired me the last few years.

What is the story of the big red building in front. Your house I assume. I really like it, the house. I have several barns, some even red.

Jerry,

Yes, my house, no story really. It was rebuilt after the old house started to fall in from problems underneath...rock cellar and all the rot associated. It was built around 1850, by Fords. Then was bought by Stubbs family around 1900, who farmed it dairy and green beans. Now, I have 1100 apple trees planted in 2 of the fields, the rest I sell hay from.

To much room.must fill it up before you get lost, more machines, must have more machines, never enough machines, fill it up before the wife finds out or she will fill it up for you.

Sounds like you had a run with Powder Post Beetles or the like. I like old houses like that. I wish someone would do a book on the architectural styles of old houses and their origins. My old house was built in the 1880's including chimneys of brick made before 1850.

Jerry,

Period architecture is something under appreciated, I must agree. Here is a magazine worth looking at for those interested in early amercana

How did you....

5 years in college (self paid) and then getting a job and working for 16 years.

I spent 5 years in college (GI bill) and another 4 out of pocket and worked 30 years... either I went to the wrong school or picked the wrong major(s) :) nhk
