Don't you experienced guys just hate us NewBe's?

My 6PPC (.262 Neck) is my first neck requiring turning and first cartridge that I will modify cases for. Can you suggest the best Neck Turner for a new guy and what I need to expand the necks of my Lapua 220 Russian brass to begin with?

I like the 21st Century, it is easy to chuck up in a lathe. The extra long mandrels have enough shank for the 3J to grab on to. Melonite the turning mandrels and you have mandrel that is almost as good a Carbide one for a fraction of the cost.

K&M or PMA Tool are good products

You will need an expander die with a 6mm mandral and a neck turning tool. Since you are going to a .262 neck I recomend you get 2 neck turning tools. One tool to take X amount off and the other to do the final cut. It is really too much material to remove in one pass and resetting the cutter can be a pain.
So this is my system
PMA Tool expander
PMA Tool model B neck turner for the 1st cut
PMA Tool model A neck turner for the 2nd cut.

Who do you youse to Melonite your parts ?

Houston Unlimited, east of Brenham, TX off HiWay 290. Their primary business is servicing the oil drilling businesses, we talked them into barrels for us. They do not have FFL, we only send them barrels and parts.

We did a walk through of their operation before we handed them the first batch. We found out they have the same equipment as the other Meloniting houses, same basic process.
