My Kid's First Match at
Golden 600 Yard Match Gallipollis, OH

This is a bare knuckles match for cash. Paying out for the top four places in group, and best four places in score. You can pay some additional $$ and shoot for closest to the X and best four shot group.

Heath and I made the 300 plus made trip on on Friday. Spent the Night in Gallipolis and headed to the range early Saturday morning. This was his very first competition and the first time he's ever pulled the trigger on a 600 yard target!

To say the least both of us were thrilled with the outcome. On Heaths very first target he shot a 1.703 group in the middle of the ten ring with score of 50. Of the 42 competitors, three 50s that were shot, but Heath had the smallest group of the three, giving him the win for high score. He also won the pot for closest to the X! Taking in a total of 124.00 dollars

Happy Kid with His Target

Heath displaying his winnings!

An impressive start to his shooting career!

I want to thank everyone one at the match for making a fuss over him. I think he's hooked now!

PS
Yes he kicked my butt! Shooting the same rifle and ammo. I may have to rethink my shooting technique!

He ain't a kid anymore Bart!

Congratulations Heath, you are a good shooter in a good family!

Heath, you shouldn't shoot targets like that as a beginner. Looking at the picture, folks will think that this game is too easy...which it is not. Congratulations on a great start into BR shooting. PS- Listen to your father .....he knows of what he speaks, especially when it comes to shooting "small". James Mock

It's a 6 Dasher. I'm not for sure I'm in love with the cartridge. Probably going to experiment with a couple of others this winter.

Hard to imagine Heath has grown up that much. Seems the last time I saw him, he was pretty small. Good job. You'll have to get him in some short range BR next year. Good thing you're a bullet maker as it takes twice as many components when you have a son shooting. Enjoy it while you can. When they get married, it seems that ends the match shooting with your buddy.
