Loading at the range

This is an Item that I've been making lately. It mounts in your range box and can be twisted in for travel. I am selling these for 36.50 shipped flat rate usps anywhere in U.S.

My problem is that at the state range that is most convenient for me, I have to do loading in the bed of my truck in the parking lot. No loading at the bench even though they are OK with muzzleloaders. They have even questioned me fine tuning seating depth at the bench with an arbor press and inline die,

I have a battery rig for my ChargeMaster. I have the seater covered with the arbor and inline die. I just need a way to handle resize in my press.

If I understand your predicament. If your club allows reloading in the Parking lot at your range, just build yourself a small table, with folding legs, that will fit in the bed of your truck. Set it up in the Parking lot, next to your Truck. Dont forget to include a folding chair. I did the same thing at one of the Public Ranges I used to shoot at.

Greg,
I was thinking about doing that my self at my range when I go to shoot! I don't have anyone to tell me yes or no because I am the only one shooting!! I had it all set up but with bootle neck cases it is just a no go!! So I sovled the problem, I bought more brass!!
Sorry that I was of no help!
Greg

What you need is exactly what you find at a benchrest match - and nothing less. It's just too simple to make and too simple to use not to have such a setup. Coleman makes a cooler that doubles as an equipment box and stool - not so wide but tall enough. Set up your table, unpack your stuff, sit on your cooler and have at it. Be sure to have a cheapo "blue tarp" and some hand clamps for those sudden showers.

that would work well to hold a press. weld a bar to go into the reciever to bolt the press to. you could make it adjustable for height or put a small table in it. remove it to travel.

i used to leave mt vernon at 3 am to be in dayton at 8 am to show horses back in ... well a while ago.

Better yet, Leave the Horses in the Pasture, clean out the trailer, fix up the inside like a loading room and never look back.

Fix up a square tubing with a steel plate on it for a press & barrel vice.

Anyone have a picture of a "box" that they mount their press on for loading at the range?

Greg J

I don't have a box to mount my press on,but the table in the picture works great for loading at the range. When you're done, just fold it up,slide it in the bed of your Truck, until you're ready to go back to the range.

Hey, thank you so very much Chism G. That's a huge help. I can knock that out in short order and it's small enough to sort of hide behind my truck so that the range folks have plausable deniability.

Greg J.

Here's a box. Is this what you originally had in mind? It's well made, with the top being dadoed in for strength.

Ok. it's fixed.

"Invalid attachment specified" for "Attachment 12765." In short it doesn't work.

Click on it. It's working on my PC, but I sent it from my phone, and admittedly, I'm a computer dummy, so anything's possible.

Maybe it doesn't like my Mac. ;) Clicking on it gets "Invalid attachment specified."

I get the same error message with that link. Must not be my day.

Although I am not sure who built this box, here is one that I have used for several years. I bought it at the Shilen swap meet 4 or 5 years ago. James
