Just wanted to thank Leupold's service department for taking care of my 45x-45 which had something inside the scope. Returned it and it is already back all cleaned up and ready to go.

Enclose a note with your problem. Be sure your contact is on the note.

It shouldn't take over 3-4 weeks. It has a lifetime warranty and doesn't matter if you are not the original purchaser. If it has been modified, that is customer pay and not warranteed.

Thanks Butch for the information. I bought the scope new in 2004 and still have the box it came in.
