Anybody have contact information for Kostyshyn Precision Barrels? The published phone # 410-398-9032 comes up as "Not in service", and Info operator in Childs MD can't find a listing for them.

Craig Kostyshyn seems to be gone., many people with deposits paid have been waiting several years at this point , I hope you are not one of them.

Dave Brennan of PS referred a fellow to me about two years ago who had three barrels on order I phoned , emailed and gave messages to people had seen him a few days before . All attempts to get a response failed.

Ok, thanks fella's. I'm sorry to hear he's not viable anymore. Word was he made some good .30 cal bbls.

He made some very good barrels. My guess is he just got himself buried in orders and deposits and could not dig himself out. He was pretty much a one man operation.

I think Wilbur needs to clean out some of the ads in the main advertiser board. I am sure some of them are no longer around, Kostyshyn as a good example. He made a very good barrel, I own one of them.

I don't know but perhaps they were prepaid ?

This should be said.
Craig did a great disservice to a number of people in that he took down payment money for several barrels from a number of people. When he disappeared he left these people high and dry. Ask the guy who is out the down payment money and is waiting for a barrel just how good a Kostyshin barrel is.

Someone had to say it Francis:D...I know a few shooters that were screwed by Kostyshin, good thing folks like him are few and far between in this industry.

This is a good example

of why the policy of only "Good News" should be re-considered on this site. Most often, when people have gripes about being treated poorly or getting out and out screwed by a manufacturer or merchant it should be allowed to be maid public. I think, for the most part, makers and merchants do the right thing but when they don't , they should be "taken up" on it and the rest of the population who might encounter them warned. It's the fair thing to do.

Kostyshn

About a year ago some had posted he had some health issues. I am not sure he is still with us. Has anybody seen him in the last year?

Kostyshn

A number of years back I won a 1/2 price Kostyshn certificate at the Cactus in a drawing. I sent in my deposit and the certificate and got the barrel about 1 year later with an apologetic note about the delay. The directions with the barrel stressed the need for a lengthy break in proceedure which I normally do not do and a guarantee that the barrel would be competitive. I chambered it and performed the break in proceedure as laid out in the directions. It took 3 long hours. It turned out to agg about a .350 after break in and subsequent tuning. I called Craig up and told him that though the barrel was not bad it was not, in my estimation, competitive. He asked me to send him the barrel and I did with the targets. He sent them back to me with a new free barrel saying to try this one and that he had re lapped my old barrel. I often see the phenomena of lost deposits when a business fails. Whether, in Craig's case, this is from dishonest intent or a well meaning person caught up in bad circumstances is unknown to me. I will say in my brief encounters with him he treated me well. Tim

It appears

the zoning commission approved of his running a manufacturing business in a residential community for 2 years only. Could be the reason he has vanished???
