Do any of the Rimfire Benchrest organizations dominate in the Houston, TX area? I'm looking to get started and thought that equipment lists from local competitions would help.
 
There is currently only one sanctioned rimfire match in Houston. We shoot the USBR target and the three classes of USBR, sporter (any unaltered factory gun), 10.5#, and unlimited. To encourage participation, your silly-wet rifle will generally be allowed in the sporter class. We shoot at Addicks on the third Sunday of every month. I encourage you to come to the next Match and shoot whatever you have. Ask a lot of questions, see the equipment everybody is using and generally have a good time. The match is growing every month with many new shooters. With the success of our matches, I believe there will be more Rimfire Benchrest in the area in the near future.

Be forewarned, it is addictive and a good sport to take up if you think golf was too easy.:)
