It was a glorious day in Harrison, MI for a Benchrest Match. Six worthy opponents in three classes showed up to Duke it out for the Infamous Match Winner Pins.
Before the first shots were fired we had a moment of silence for our late friends Dick Wright and Don Mulder. While we were prepping the range house we found signs that our friend Dick was with us; including and a cigarello butt under the desk and the match winner pins that were meticulously hidden from all posterior in the bottom drawer of the match scorers desk. These were nice finds as we got prepared.
As the shooting commenced, the wind did too. Shooters were faced with treacherous switch conditions both in wind speed and direction, but two men proved that they had what it took to defeat the conditions. We will make a special post regarding the next match on June 8, 2019, but for those of you reading, this is going to be a special match. It's a Memorial Match of sorts to honor our late friends Dick and Don. Following the match, Dick's family and the Harrison Sportsman's Club will be throwing a Celebration of Life from 2 to 5 in the Range Club House. The first shots are at 10 AM Sharp! Don't be Late!
