A fine day was to be had by all at the Harrison Sportsman's Club's 100 yard group match on Saturday, July 19, 2014. This was the largest gathering of Dick Wright's Jackpine Savages that I have ever seen in three years of shooting at the Harrison range! Many fine stories of fishing, hunting, oh! and shooting ensued during the match. It is always good to see old friends and new friends too!
Now onto the meat of the matter.......
Two shooters deserve the highest of mention, Jim 'Hutch' Hutchinson and Kurt Krug. Hutch lucked out and drew the Honey Hole (Bench #1) and Kurt drew Bench #6. Hutch put his luck to good work and proceeded to put on a shooting show that many of us only dream of. His 0.1690" aggregate outpaced the nearest competitor (Joe Hynes) by 0.072". Third place in the Varmint Class was won by Alex Murray. Mighty fine shoot'in Jim! Kurt really had his act together and was thoroughly convinced that the wind was his friend. Kurt had Dick's wind probe and my wind probe at his disposal and outpaced Bob Zimmer 0.3930" to 0.4750". Bob was straining to watch the wind probes three benches down from Kurt. Bob shot two of his fine factory 6PPC's and finished 2 and 3 in the Factory Class.
So here are the results along with photos of the gathering.....
