I'm fireforming for the first time. I have Lapua 220 russian brass - I'm loading 52 gr hornady's jammed to lands, how "hot" do I load these ? Mild ? Medium? Hot? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Work up an accuracy load.....

practice doping the wind. Your accuracy load will be impressive. WC 844 is a fantastic powder for the 22 PPC, by the way.

Good luck!

I'm using H322 right at 25.0 gr.
Was worried that with the smaller case (pre-fireformed) that this would be to warm. I FF about 15 cases so far and no sign of excess pressure. Is powder residue on the shoulder normal.

Yes, the powder residue is normal. It shouldn't be there after fireforming though or your sizing to much. Keep doing what your doing to fireform. I usually use up partial cans or compatible powder to fireform with instead of using up the lot# I intend to do accuracy work with. You can fill it up to the base of the bullet, zero and kill varmits pretty well if you wish. In my BR guns, I just blow them into the hill side.
