My rifle is finally completed except for small accessories. Remy 700 .308, krieger 26" heavy varmint 5R barrell, action blueprinted/trued and some Mickey Coleman magic touch, HS precision M24 vertical grip with adjustable LOP and cheekpiece. Im only 36 rounds into learning the gun but, my best group yet was at 292yrds and i was holding 6-shots @ .1431 moa. The worst group i have shot so far was 0.8162 at 407yrds. I yanked the last 2, otherwise it would have been around the .2-.3moa range. Coleman Rifles definately knows what they're doing and can build amazing tackdrivers. I swear the .308 reamer they use must be a magic one. I couldnt ask for anymore. Thanks Mickey and Chris! Keep on Keepin' On!

well i have three 6 shot groups from a couple days ago, they are at different distances but here is the breakdown. 104yrd was 0.3184moa, 292yrd was 0.1431moa, 407yrd was 0.8162. Average based on that is 0.4259. i still havent even gotten to know the rifle well yet. I have confidence that my average will start coming down with time. i believe that this gun is capable of 1/8th moa, the question is can i shoot it to 1/8th moa consistently?.........Probably Not.

Congrats!

Any thing that comes out of Mickey's shop is 1st rate. That is who chambers my ppc's. Both Mickey and Chris do excellent work. You can rest assured that everything will be straight and square and done right. That said, the magic is not in the reamer. Its in the bbl (if its chambered true) in a perfect tuned action, in a perfect tuned bedding. There is no way to tell if a bbl is a hummer till you shoot it. Of course if you did have a hummer bbl and it was not chambered dead nutz, it would not shoot its best. I hope you enjoy your new toy.

Am I figuring right? That would be a .125. If I agg a .250 with my rifle Ive had a hell of a day and it dont kick like a .308.

Well I'm not actually going to go broke over trying to shoot 1/8th moa consistently Charles. Realistically, if I can hold a .25-.50 moa consistently I will be perfectly happy. I'm serious though, if any of you are wanting to have a rifle built you may really want to consider having Coleman Rifles do it for you. It was especially convenient for me because I am only a 2 hour drive away from there. These guys were very quick about getting the work done, the only reason the build in general took soooo long was because HS Precision just simply can't produce fast enough, the HS Precision quality though is definately worth the wait.

Matt700,

Mickey's a friend of mine. I've known him since the mid-1990s, when he was a part-time gunsmith. When I was undergoing chemo, Mickey, Dave Tooley and Joel Pendergraft made life interesting. They're all fine gunsmiths now -- well, Dave Tooley was way back then, too. And Joel & Mickey did nice work, though it wasn't their *profession* at the time.

That out of the way, go look at the NBRSA and IBS records for even ONE aggregate. If you can average .125 MOA, you'll be in the Hall of Fame in one year. We'll all bow when you walk by. Tony Boyer will have to shake your hand while telling you he's passing the torch.

Getting the notion?

But good luck with it. Dreams are good. You just might want to set one a little more achievable.

I understand Charles. I know that I can't shoot .125 consistently. But man would I sure love to be able to. Im just saying that I think the gun is capable, but I am not. That's the point I was trying to get across. Sorry about the confusion.
