I'm coming, but I'm bringing long johns, insulated gloves, winter parka filled with down, and a frigging bigbuddy heater with a 7.5 gallon tank for under my bench!!! I'm tired of freezin my ass off down there and being rained on for 2-3 days! I ain't saying I don't trust your weatherman there, but I wouldn't make a bet on him at a Vegas sports book!

That wouldn't be a bad idea! I'll have my snowmobiling suit handy just in case!

I cant believe there have been no replies to this thread, I did my first competition in BR this weekend at this event...........a few observation's.

This is a sport where you dont just decide to do it , you have to have a desire first. then a mentor then a friend and friends of friends..........etc.

Goodgrouper is my nephew , my mentor (in benchrest), my friend, and lifelong hunting partner.

Over the year's some of his friends have become my friends.........Roland Black... Nobody can bed an action like Roland.......PERIOD...4 Star's thanks Roland
Joe Olas is a great gunsmith , friend and competitor.

Dave Tunbridge gave alot of his time to put on this event. Thanks Dave !!!!!!
Jim Erickson is a comedian plus a true shooter and friend. Thanks Jim

Lou Murdica showed up with his partner in comedy Dave Blazzard.

I was having a really hard time in 200 unlimited and sporter.....Lou gave me a measure full of ??????? powder and his Jones thrower. Thanks,Lou !!!

I Have always tried to take note of great gunsmiths...got to meet Dan Dowling great man and gunsmith took home a lot of wood and introduced me to Ghost pepper.

This is a very Niche sport, but has the best people you will find.

THANK YOU......RON DUFFIN !!!!!!!

Great post > welcome to the sickness! Best people ever. Who won the two - gun?
Isn't it good to put a face with the names you read about?

You"re welcome Uncle B. Although your statement about me might be a TAD strong, I'm glad I got to be a small part of your new Rifle !! ------ Roland

This was a great match with a great bunch of guys all around. It was good to see Dave Blazzard back in top form again. He and Lou loaded by us and kept us well entertained. It was also mighty nice of Lou to lend my uncle some different powder when XBR seemed to crap out in his gun. That's what I love about the guys in this game--they'll give you the shirt off their backs to help you out.

Now I can finally say that I've seen XBR totally fizzle out like most folks have said. I ran 53 clicks of XBR the entire weekend and it shot as good as my old barrel would allow. But a newer lot of XBR in UncleB's gun was working first thing Saturday morning and then it just started "patterning" like a shotgun. We went up, down, in and out, and never could get it back. When the other powder was used, it was like somebody flipped a switch and the gun came alive again. I guess that just goes to show why a guy's gotta have two powders at each match.
