centering scope adjustments.

I know I read this somewhere, but lost the page (magazine) it was in:

To center a scope in the middle of its' range, use a mirror. the details were quite specific, and it sounded like something I could do without taking my scopes off my hunting rifles. Does anyone know what I am referring to? Help please, it is almost deer season here in SW Georgia.
