Cartridge Boxes for 6.5 SAUM and WSSM's

The plastic cases I have found so far are either small 20 round jobs or else are not deep enough for the wildcats I have, a 6.5 SAUM and a 30 WSSM. Both are chambered to let me seat bullets long. The MTM 223/243 WSSM case doesn't let me close the lid on my 30 WSSM cartridges. The MTM 113 / WSM case works, but only holds 20 rounds.

Does anyone have a reccomendation for other MTM model numbers or another brand 50 or 100 round case?
Thanks
Jim

cabelas sells some for the WSM's in larger capacity. they are the only ones ive found that i like for my short mags.

Hi Lefty,
Are they the ones that are the "Cabelas" brand? They carry both MTM and their own brand. Looking at the photos they look like the same thing. Have you tried both?
Thanks
Jim

Bring a Dummy Round with you, it'll save another trip. Try Midway also, they list their box sizes with a COL as well as a base size.

jimfinn,

Here are a couple boxes that I've found for the WSM's, they're probably too tall for WSSM's and the like but at least the rounds fit. The clear box is not MTM. These are carried by the Sportsman's Warehouse chain. The clear box seems OK and fairly MTM'ish. The blue loading block with a cover is kinda' iffy...... the cover just sets on it. I'm gonna' make some ugly clips or an ugly bungee arrangement to hold it together.

Not GREAT news, but........

Now I've never tried one of these because I haven't been able to actually hold one in my hand locally, BUT I haven't ordered any either because according to it's spec's it's too short for WSM's and too tall for WSSM's :)

:) Max oal of a loaded round is 3.08 which means that even rounds loaded to fit in the mag box of a Win70 won't fit into the box while empty WSSM cases set so low that you can't grasp them.

The Berry's box does work OK for WSM's but it too is too short for the WSSM's. It may be made by MTM, dunno...

I DID get suckered into one of the square boxes with the handle that's supposed to carry WSM's point down..... didn't work for my loads.

For long loads the only box I've got that works is the funky loading block with the clear cover. With it you WILL curse when you drop it on the floor... it's about as handy as rolling a smoke on a Brahma bull.

I ordered a couple of the Cabelas WSM boxes. I don't think the standard WSSM boxes will work, at least the one MTM WSSM box I tried didn't. The max OAL listed for the 25 WSSM is 2.35" in my Hornady manual. But the max OAL for my 30 WSSM with a 150 Barnes triple shock os close to 2.5".
Thanks for the ideas.
There is a Sportsman's Warehouse here in Anchorage and I my see if they have those clear topped jobs.
Rollong a smoke on a Brahma bull :p
Good one Al.

Took 10 seconds to find.(right behind me)

Unless I'm missing something......

100 round MTM WSM boxes in Sinclair's book, page 83, #R100-Mag-10, $13.95.

I've used these for a couple of years for my SAUM's.
