Boyd's laminated stock

Need info....this stock looks like its finished with laquer. (sands like its laquer) It was ordered from Boyd's finshed, pepper (gray/black) supposed to be "drop-in for 77MkII 300 WinMag. The stock looks okay, but the finish needs to be re-done with an oil-type, or polyurethane finish. My question is ....what do I use to strip the laquer from the stock without hurting the epoxy that laminates the wood together? Will just any stripper work? Any answers would be appreciated, and Thanks in advance.

I think you will find it to be polyurethane. Just get a satin spray-on Polyurethane finish to blend into the existing finish. No need to remove anything.
