gentlemen,
i plan on building some ar' based rifles and have most of the data i need for that task( not all, but most). what i know little about is mauser actions. i will be building rifles on both small ring(swede) and large ring(98) actions.

what you reccommend as good reading material for building on these actions ?

not br rifles, but accurate rifles.

is jerry kaunhausen(sp) mauser book in the right direction ?
what else ?

thanks

Mike,

I have and use several of Jerry Kuhnhausen's books. His book on Mauser rifles is a good one. I know of a couple of gunsmithing schools that use (or did use) it as a text book.

FWIW,

Mike,
I have two of Kaunhausen's books that deal with the Colt 1911 .45acp., one that deals with the S & W revolvers, and they are excellent books. The line drawings are superior, the technical info. is well researched, and I would imagine the Mauser book would be the same high quality.

I build rifles on Mauser actions, and I can say that the Kuhnhausen book is the very first one that you should have. Web resources in addition to the Mauser Central site mentioned above should also include www.sporterizing.com

Good luck!
