I have a Sako L579 action that I had barreled and am replacing the factory varmint stock with a sporter model. The new stock has been previously bedded. The bedding extended several inches past the action under the barrel. The shank on the replacement barrel was little bigger than the one that was originally in this stock. I had dremel and sand this bit out to get the new barreled action to sit into the rest of the bedding properly. The new barrel is a pac-nor #2 finished at 20". My question is should I rebed the bit shank? The bedding seems to fit the action well but I know no 2 are exactly alike should I rebed the whole thing? TIA.
