Bat ds Bolt upgrade?

Bat DS Bolt upgrade?

What are they talking about when they say i had my bat DS bolt upgraded? I have a Bat DS and the only thing that i have noticed is that when i open the bolt all the way open ,it makes contact with the case port befor it hits the bolt stop. Besides that it works OK. or is ther something els i am missing? Gabe

Most BAT DS actions come with the ball bearing on the cocking piece. Some that have the bolt without it, send it back to BAT to have it installed. However, the most common BAT bolt modifications are the addtion of a carbide weight/spacer toward the front of the firing pin and the swap out of a slightly shorter (because of weight/spacer) but stronger firing pin spring. Also, if requested, relieveing of areas in the bolt shroud are done to reduce the possiblity of varying drag on the firing pin. These mods, for the most part are credited to Dwight Scott. He is the DS in the BAT model.

I have 2 DS models. They were purchased when they were first introduced. They have no ball bearing. Dwight did the bolt knob on my LV DS. My Stiller Diamondback was the smoothest receiver that I owned. I sold the wrong one when I got rid of it.
