Barrel weight

I have been fiddling with them since the first ones were wrapped about 6mi from my home........ 30yrs ago.
I've built several really good ones within this last year. For hunting. For other people. Because they wanted them.
A hunnerd bucks and a grape sodey says NEVER will they make any impact in sanctioned BR of any stripe.
In simple fact, the whole idea is stupid, any engineer, heck any high school kid with an inquiring mind and access to a shop environment can tell you what will be the result of wrapping carbon fiber around a steel bar and applying heat to the bar.....
I've got a couple here I'm trying to sell, both of them come with a barrel wrench and a conventional barrel of exactly the same weight. AND, a window to shoot them out of so's you can test them before you buy
I'll probably end up giving them away.

The taper restrictions in LV and HV would make the carbon wrap pretty thin. I’m not sure any benefits would be worth it.
In Sporter, where there are no barrel contour restrictions, it might be a viable option, that is, if the barrel you had the carbon wrap put on was up to the task. I would hate to put the wrap in a barrel that was mediocre.
JFYI, my Nephrologist ( kidney doctor), bought his dad one of the Cristian Arms Rifles with the carbon wrapped barrel in 6.5 Creedmore. It shoots pretty good, half inch capability. But it’s a hunting rifle.
I have though about sending a 1.450 diameter unlimited blank of and having it wrapped up to 2” diameter.
Would you PLEASE do that Jackie!!!
I've been shooting and testing these things for YEARS and everbody else claims "they shoot just great" but they absolutely R E F U S E to prove it. All the groups I've seen posted are about like you say, 1/2" capable..... of 30-ish barrels that's where they tend to shoot, for me. I make 1/4moa hunting rifles every day. But I, personally cannot make a cf-wrapped barrel setup of the same weight shoot that well.
I feel like the Lone Voice Ranting In The Wilderness Here. Even Dusty Stevens claims "they shoot good"
I recently tested a "new one".... as in a new startup company.... and it shot just like all the other ones, ie about like a factory hunting rifle. I built THREE rifles, used SEVEN barrels in my test......... I spent almost 5 grand of my own money.......and I killed a quarter million dollar deal
The entire concept is now being marketed under a different name.
Your big ol' 1.450 dealio might be less affected though.... the (obvious) problem is that steel expands greatly when heated, CF doesn't. And if that 1.450 barrel never gets warm and stretches much, it might just shrug off the effect of the wrap.

I need to look up the test this guy did... he tested a CF barrel vs a equal taper steel barrel, and a equal weight steel barrel. The CF barrel actually did cool faster, HOWEVER, the CF barrel got wayy hotter to begin with so much that the equal taper steel barrel stayed cooler any way.
