Winchester was the first thing that came to my mind when he told me the od=.990 and the tenon length was about .750,and no cuts, just straight breach, but he swears the TPI is 14 and I can't remember ever seeing anything that uses a 14 tpi tenon. Aren't the Wins 16 TPI?
All of this is because he has what he thinks is an unfired blank that has been fitted, to some point, for something and wants to use it. The shank is only 1.150 already and it's short in that area and is blued.
I've already advised him against using a bbl that he really knows nothing about, even if it is new. Don't know if it's a POS bbl or or a top of the line. I guess I have to get my hands on it and check all of the measurements for myself and decide what I'll tell him from there...Thank you all! --Mike Ezell
