B A T question

What are your thoughts on hanging a 30" HV taper tube on a B A T "B" with the 1.062" shank? All of my B A T's are either 1.25 or 1.125" actions.

Thanks ,
Tod

I believe that it will be okay. I am not an expert on such, but I have a 28" HV on my BAT (1.062 shank) and it seems fine. My action is the 1.4 inch octagon. Good shooting...James

what stock are you putting it in, how is it affixed to the stock, weight of the barrel, then we can comment, but it may be OK,

some gunsmiths bed the first 1.5 inches of the barrel and that helps if the barrel is very heavy, as this is not short range BR question here,

Looking at a used gun. I have never seen it in person It has a Fiberglass MBR stock. As far as weight...it's a 28" 1k HV countour....but I will put a 30" on it ...they all weight the same (give or take a few oz). Just weighed the three I have handy...all are 7.3 lbs..all three from different makers. It is the BAT multiflat duel port.

I think the BAT B with 1.062 tenon is more than sufficient, and maybe it goes with out saying but I pillar bed all my long range rifles not just glue in like the short range rifles. I'm just more comfortable with the pillar bedding when using the longer heavier barrels.

Think out the physics of the setup. Go for big where it is anchored to the stock, barrel block or glue/pillar mount.
After all you have 17# to deal with not 10.5#, but you already knew that.

No issues with mine, very accurate. Pic is on Baity's website with the walnut MBR stock.
