Austin Rifle Club - Match Results - June 30, 2024 - Moore ties Club Record for Win

ARC 100 yd Match for Score
21 Shooters - 14 VFS, 3 Hunter Rifle, 4 Factory

Good turnout today for our Annual Watermelon Match. The parade and marching band caused a slight delay to start but the new twirlers outfits were beautiful. Needless to say it was HOT but an unusually mild breeze today lead to some really nice scores. Our club record for high score in a match for score was tied today by Charles Moore shooting a 250-23X. With 3 targets of 50-5X and balance of 4X 's Charles took the lead in Match 2 and stayed in front from there. Even Krause's personal best of 250-21X's only got him a 2nd place. And 3rd goes to Big Steve Brown who got the Creedmoor tiebreaker to edge out Bill Sparks with that pair both shooting 250-19X. Obviously , our club is scoring better when a 250-19X is only good for 4th, just out of the money. Robert Rongero also stayed clean at 250-15X.
Hunter rifle 1st place goes to Curt Gallaher with his 246-10X while Tommy Maedgen gets 2nd place Hunter at 244-8X, barely beating John Gallaher at 243-7X.
Factory rifle was won by John Price shooting 242-2X followed by Ernest Mims with 237-0X.
So congratulations to that smiling 1st place winner of 'The Watermelon Match.' Enjoy that cold melon Charles !!
Next match is last Sunday in July, the 28th...STARTS AT 10 am.
Good shooting in good conditions ALL.

Steve Krause, Benchrest Match Director
