cigarettes going up one dollar a pack. If we let them tax them out are our guns next.

Who's job is it to enforce the Consititution? Citizens of the United States.
Read the works of Thomas Jefferson. Why do you have guns anyway? Is poking little holes in paper an end in itself?
 
I quit smoking five years ago and could care less about tabacco taxes but.... taxes are taxes. They are always one sided.
These bastards that "represent" us, Don't listen to us at all.
 
The rationale behind the Second Amendment is to provide an armed electorate as a defense against Govt. tyranny. That's pretty much Hamilton, Jefferson, Madison, and some others.

First Govt. tyranny is to disarm the electorate.

I believe the founding fathers of our country were very intelligent and wise men with balls. There are a couple sentences in our Declaration of Independence that state:
"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government,...."
I believe it may be time, if not past time, to put some thought into this.
 
Prediction:

The time is coming when one of two things will happen. We will set on our arses and let them take it all or we will have to march on DC and let them have a piece of our mind. One thing is for sure, we have to get better organized so as to coordinate our efforts.
 
There's no gridlock and the dems have complete control, so they can and will decide what laws to change regardless of whether or not it's constitutional. They'll just say it's out-dated, site too many shootings, then change the laws and it's done and there's nothing we can do. Write your congressman all you want, but it won't change. Just look at Washington now! What a mess!
 
There is a difference between making a law an enforcing it. They can pass whatever law they want, but who do you think is going to disarm the american people? The fact is that the majority of the people who will be asked to enforce this law will refuse to do so as they believe as we do. They have already done testing in the marine corp to see if the orders would be followed, and the participants overwhelmingly refused the orders. I was told that from three former marines. They know what they will be faced with if they attempt to disarm the country, and the fact is the very ones they will want to do it are one of us. So my question is just WHO is going to enforce it? I don't see the anti-guns people being brave enough to go to war with the gun carrying population to prove their point. However I do believe that they will do everything in their power to limit the hell out of us. Hounding our elected officials is something that needs to be done to make sure THEY know what we will and will not stand for.

If you want to be represented in Washington join the NRA.
 
At what point shall the militias organize and prepare?

It seems to me there is a lot of internet talk everywhere about "doing something" when the time comes, but I don't see anyone actually anticipating the day of war. Alone we are small. Organization is needed if we are ever to arrive prepared.
 
There are a lot of things I would like to say about organizing and protesting and a few other more like...serious things. However I don't think it would be wise to do so on a public forum that is most likely monitored by you know who. So....any ideas.............Donald
 
Well, I'm not talking about plotting illegal crime schemes on the internet.

I'm talking about organizing, and being prepared, should the day come we are put to the test. There sooner or later needs to become some form of link between larger numbers of gun owners, besides the internet. And I don't mean attending at the same shooting match as someone else.

At what point do the militias form?

It's just a question I would like to get a serious answer to.

The Militias WERE forming, at least here in Michigan. I was asked to join. Then there was a guy named Timothy McVeigh, and the Militias dissolved.

Our best defense is the NRA. Get your friends and neighbours to join. We need another four million.
 
Why don't you quit smoking. I did 25 years ago and have since run three marathons and my risk of lung cancer is down to average. My kids did not grow up breathing second hand smoke with a high risk of asthma and cancer.

I am not interested in paying your health care bills. They should charge you just as much for cigarettes as it will cost us taxpayers to cover you medical costs and put that money aside just to pay for you. I need my money to buy more guns and don't wish to squander it on you and your poor heath habits.

Well, for starters, all they have to do is shut down all public ranges, restrict access (to LEO only) to other ranges, and tax ammo and reloading supplies. They know that will start to put a dent in rising gun popularity. If you can no longer afford to get the ammo and there's no place to shoot, sooner or later, folks are going to spend their thousands of gun dollars on other necessities. Naturally, I'm completely against all this as it infringes on our rights, but none of that matters under the current administration. The USA will become just like Great Britian with one-world currency and fewer rights (and eventually no gun rights).

If we let it start with cigarettes anything big brother thinks is unheathy will soon follow (caffeine) so if you do not like chocolate,tea,soda or coffee you could be ok with letting this happen. By the way BOB Like most on this board I pay my own heath care. So no one can tell me how to live like it or not. I DON'T SMOKE
 
Gun sales are up 49% since Obama got elected. Holder made a comment about re-instituting a new AWB. Pelosi told him to STFU.

Demo gun-grabbers are learning they don't have any "base" for "gun control." Obama seems to be astute enough to grasp this. Discussion amongst Demos seems to concur.

Two things, three things you can do:

Join the NRA, sign up another member.

Buy another firearm

Write the knuckle-draggin' gun-grabbers in Wash. DC. Tell them where you stand.
