A very sad day.

I just read the Karl Kenyon and Flash Ebert both passed away in the last few days. I never know Karl, but I knew Flash a little. You couldnt meet a nicer guy. Say a prayer for their families.

I called flash last november or so and we chatted about his actions and he offered to get one to me in canada ahead of some others but I declined. nice fellow and was battling an illness then and we joked about life,illness and death as he was quite ill that week, I mentioned he could not die as the rimfire crowd would not be finished with him for years yet, I will always rember his laughter and said "only if that could come true"

nice guy nice stuff

Sad Indeed;

I had the good fortune to have met Flash and to have spent a couple of hours with him in his shop. He took the time to show me everything in his shop inclding his barreling machinery. Said he didn't like lapping so he gave up on making barrels. As others have mentioned, he was as nice a human as one could ever encounter. I am sorry for the loss to his family and to all the rest of us. We are truly Deminished.

It would have been nice to meet Mr Kenyon as well. I have an idea he might have been the same type individual.

I have been fortunate enough to shoot with Flash, eat good Mexican food with him, visit his shop, and owned one of his receivers and a couple of his barrels. He was just a super super gentleman. We will all miss him.
I visited with Karl Kenyou last year after buying a Martini MK11 International that he built. What a wonderful shooting rifle. He was a very pleasant gentleman to visit with.

What a contribution these two made,and they never tooted their horn on their accomplishments. I knew this day was coming sooner than we wanted it to. We definitely have lost two Icons of the shooting world! Their legacy will live on in their magnificent work they both left us to marvel at.

I met Flash Ebert at the WBC held in 1997 at Phoenix. He made time to chat with me, and I bought one of his barrels. That barrel was a freak, winning nine consecutive major matches and setting four new National records. It is a sad loss to the sport when these people are taken from us.
