A new toy for Christmas?

Anyone heard or seen anything about a new LV size action that Jim Borden is making?

(Is it too late for my wife to order one and surprise me?)

Re-posted from the Borden Accuracy face book page.

We have been getting requests from Benchrest Shooters to make a light varmint action with a longer bolt length than our current Rimrock BR which has an XP100 bolt length. The Rimrock BRM action tends to be too heavy for LV rifles using the heavier scopes available today. So under a push from Roy Hunter we developed the Rimrock B. It has an extra long loading port and comes standard with the right hand ejection port. Coned bolt nose is standard as well as spiral fluting on the bolt. The action is hardened 416 SS (41 to 42 Rc) and it weighs 30.24 ounces with removable trigger hanger. $1250.00 plus ship and insure to ffl.

New Rimrock B Action

Conrad and Patrick--thanks. As my facebook posting indicated we have been getting asked by many what we could do to have a LV weight action that uses the standard Rem 700 bolt length (not Rem 700 bolt but the length of a Rem 700 bolt) versus the xp100 bolt length in the Rimrock BR. The BRM That uses the Rem 700 length but the action is a bit heavy for most scope and stock combinations being used these days. So-we bobbed the tang of the BRM, lengthened the loading port and used the 6.5x284 length eject port and ended up with an action that weighs 30.24 ounces with removable trigger hanger. Barrels will interchange with our Rimrock BR and BRM models. Also to make life easier for everyone, the inletting closely matches another action on the market with B designation :).

Here are 2 pictures:

More pictures available tomorrow

Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas

I wonder if that's a barreled action and he drilled a hole in the wall....... or did he glue it?

A nail?

Anyway, I want one :)

Jim might have just set it on the table top, snaped a picture and rotated the picture 90° when he posted the picture.
He's clever that way. :)

Notice the action # is OOO7 not OO7.

I'll bet on Hals idea!! Looks like BAT competition to me. A question for BAT users, what does this action have to do to make you buy it instead of a BAT?

Got lazy taking the pictures--wanted to get it done and my green background for masking was not handy so I set vertical on the setup table and snapped away--then as Hal said rotated images 90 degrees during edit :)

Quick lock-time-smooth open and close and hard receiver (41 to 42 Rc) and bolt 44 Rc. Bolt-face perpendicular to action centerline within .0002 from 12 o'clock to 6 o'clock on bolt-face

Thanks for looking

Jim
