A lighter trigger for Sako Vixen. How to alter or replace?

Hi Gang:

How can I get a trigger from a Sako Vixen circa. 1962, to have a lighter pull? Any mods that will reduce the trigger pull?

Is there a replacement trigger available?

I have a very accurate .222 Vixen that needs a lighter trigger.

TIA,

Zeke

Zeke, I believe Timney makes a trigger for your vixen. They are designed to be adjusted down to around 2# . They can be set considerably lower than that but and this is a BIG BUT, The safety will not work! There may be a way to remedy this, I don't know.

I also have a vixen about that vintage. Its a very sweet rifle in 223. has shot many groups in the two's. The trigger has a verticle
sliding sear which is supported by a spring. That spring also also is the trigger tension spring. Simply replacing it with a lighter one will
improve things. Both the sear and finger piece can stand some very light stone work as can the inside of the housing, but a major improvement can be had just by changing the spring which will be trial and error, as I don't know of anyone offering a straight
replacement.
