The reamer print for 95 palma from Pacific Prec
shows a throat length of .050
This seems a little short, even for 155 Sierra's
also is it compatible with Lapua brass--thanks

I used to use a '95 Palma chamber in my Palma rifles before switching to the Bisley 150 chamber. I seated my 155 Sierras at 2.785 overall length to give me a .020 jump to the rifling.

clowdis
what leade angle do you use on the 150 and what is the difference to the 95
I have been using the 1/2 degree and seating .020 long but getting about 2.780 on the lands.

Geeees....at a glance, I honestly thought this topic was something about a 95 year old palm reader from the Pacific.

Clarence,
The 150 has a 1 1/2 degree leade if I remember correctly. I measure overall length with a RCBS micrometer which is really to a spot on the ogive. But seems as though the OAL with the Bisley 150 is about .030 or .040 longer than the '95 Palma chamber. IIRC it's throated so that the Sierras will be jumping slightly when seated to an OAL of 2.800. I'll have to check tonight.

2.800 oal

New chamber seat to 2.800 bullets will be jumping .0015. Wear it out.;)

No but

I have fired about 20,000 rounds seated at 2.800. My 95 palma reamer if I seat to 2.800 oal are jumping .0015. Sounds like you are new to palma/reloading. Establish what your seating depth is "just touching" the lands and work up loads from that. I have shot the Sierra 155 SMK since I have been shooting Palma and they like to jump. Around 2500 rounds I'll adjust my seating depth to where they are jumping about .0015 and finish shooting out the barrel.

Here is my last ten shot group at 1000 yards 10.5 wide by 5.5 tall. the important thing I'm happy about is holding 5.5 elevation I can take over from there.:D
