308 with 30 br bullets

has anybody tried some of the117 or 118 grain 30 br flat base bullets in a 1-17 or 1-14 twist 308 barrel at 600 or 1000 yds targets. It seems that these lighter bullets would stay above mach 1.2
with no problem and give good results. Just thinking out loud.

What is the BC of these bullets? I was just messin around with my Sierra program....push a Seirra 110 gr HP to 5000 FPS and I only see about 850 FPS at 1K. BC= .179.

Tried the Sierra 125 spt at 5000 FPS an ended up with 1350 FPS at 1K. BC = .279

Pretty sure to get 5000 FPS out of a 308 you would need to load kinda hot. Maybe a really long bbl would help.

223 80 gr out shoots a 308 168 at 600 in highpower....so i think you are pushing the envelope....from the outside, trying a light bullet in 30 at 600...never mind 1000
