The Deep Creek Range in Missoula, MT will be hosting two long range & F-Class events this year. The first match is a Palma format match with shooting from the 800-900-1000yd lines on Memorial Day (5/28/12).
The next opportunity for F-Class and long range is September 21-23rd at the Northern Rockies Regional, sponsored by USTacticalSupply.com and Berger Bullets. This is our large NRA long range and F-Class regional, which has been sold out the last two years. Friday is a team match starting in the afternoon (pick up teams arranged at the range) and the next two days consist of matches at the 800-900 and 1000yd lines.
Missoula's Deep Creek Range is home to some of the finest shooting conditions in the Northern Rocky Mountains. There have been several NRA national records set there in the last two years, and the 1000yd bench rest club seems to always be in the news for shooting a new record at 1000yds. The range is close to Missoula ( Directions - 20-25 min) or you can enjoy some of the great camping there. The range is situated in a mountain valley and surrounded by pines, both of which seem to provide the right amount of shelter for great shooting.
This is a great chance for bench resters to bring their rifles and gear and compete in the F-open class -AND do very well. Nearly every match that is attended by a bench rest shooter has the BR shooter at the top of the results or very near it. So, consider coming out to one of our matches and doing well!
