The 2010 PSL Lapua Series has made a few changes to the rules in order to make 2010 even better. The PSL Lapua Series champion will win $2,500, 2nd place will win $1,500, and 3rd will win $1,000. 100 points will be awarded to the match winner with each subsequent finisher receiving 1 point less. Competitors finishing 100th or worse, will receive 1 point. For example: 1st place 100 points, 2nd 99 points, 3rd, 98 points, 4th 97 points, 102nd 1 point, 103rd 1 point, 110th 1 point,etc.. Each target winner will receive one bonus point and the match winner will receive 5 bonus points.
The protesting procedure will be different this year because we will be using our new PSL On Target scoring software developed by Jeff Block. Each target will be scored by the computer. This will help ensure that each and every target is scored accurately, fairly , and consistently. We will now have a $2 fee for each bull that is protested and competitors will no longer bring their own targets up to the scoring team. Each target will have a printout stapled to it that is a close-up image of the actual target. The competitor will circle the scoring box of the bull on the print out that he wishes to protest and fold $2 over the top of the target. The targets will be picked up by the scoring team, and the competitor may observe as the scoring team makes a ruling. If the score is changed, the competitor is refunded the $2. You will only be able to protest your own target. We want each and every competitor to feel that they received the score they deserved.
